Cape girls rally to stun Yarmouth, earn first victory

YARMOUTH—There was no reason to think the Cape Elizabeth girls' lacrosse team was going to erase a five-goal halftime deficit Friday evening at longtime tormentor Yarmouth.

The Capers had lost their first three outings and no one on the field had ever beaten the Clippers, the reigning Class A state champions, who had gotten seven first half goals from junior standout Celia Zinman.

But despite the obstacles, this Cape Elizabeth squad believes it's different and has the potential to be special and lo and behold, the Capers went out and shocked the world.

And rallied for a season-turning, inspirational victory..
