When Saint Dominic Academy in Auburn closed its doors for good earlier this summer, the disappointment and devastation were overwhelming for students who hoped to continue to wear a Saints uniform during athletic contests and to eventually graduate from the venerable institution.

Those students were not only heartbroken, but suddenly had to scramble to find a new school.

Cheverus wound up the choice for many of them and by all indications, it will be a most welcoming destination.

Just ask six former St. Dom's boys' soccer players, who have been welcomed with open arms and project to play a big role for the Stags this fall.
