Cheverus' breathtaking comeback beats Biddeford

PORTLAND—Kylie Lamson wasn't willing to pack it in.

Either were her talented teammates.

And the end result was a victory unlike any that longtime Cheverus coach Billy Goodman has ever enjoyed before.

Thursday afternoon at the Portland Exposition Building, in a Class A South girls' basketball semifinal, Goodman and Lamson's top-ranked Stags appeared destined for elimination against No. 4 Biddeford until suddenly, they came back and snatched victory from defeat in improbable fashion.

And some how, some way, Cheverus' title dreams remain within reach.
