Cheverus discovers scoring punch, rolls past Beacons

PORTLAND—If Cheverus' girls' hockey team hopes to capture a fourth consecutive state championship, it's going to have to be much more productive on offense.
After goal-scoring standouts Lucy Johnson and Caroline Rousseau departed, the Stags need someone else to step up and it appears that freshman Logan Curry is in line to do that very thing.
Thursday afternoon at Troubh Ice Arena, Cheverus matched up against the Beacons co-op team, a squad which features players from Cape Elizabeth, Deering, South Portland and Waynflete, and Curry's ability to put the puck in the net led to victory.
