Cheverus downs Sanford in home opener

PORTLAND—Last Friday, for just the second time since the start of the 2021 season, Cheverus' field hockey team did not win its game.

The Stags didn't lose either, as they tied Biddeford, but heading into Thursday afternoon's home opener versus Sanford, there was some uncertainty as to how this young team would respond.

As it turned out, Cheverus responded with flying colors.
