Cheverus edges Windham in thriller to end regular season

PORTLAND—If the Cheverus and Windham softball teams can produce another game like Thursday's thriller should they be fortunate enough to meet again 12 days from now, another historic, instant classic will be the end result.

The rivals produced yet another memorable contest at Shea Field, in a game which saw heroes both expected and unexpected step to fore, but in the end, the reigning Class A state champion Stags had just enough to hold off a threat from the valiant Eagles.
