PORTLAND—Cheverus' girls' hockey team simply won't lose.

Even on a night when the three-time reigning state champion Stags were on their heels from the get-go and got out-shot by an overwhelming amount.

Thursday, at Troubh Ice Arena, Cheverus, which also includes players from Medomak Valley and Windham, welcomed highly-touted Yarmouth/Freeport in an early-season showdown and while much of the game was played in the Stags' end, Yarmouth/Freeport couldn't come away with a victory.
