DeRoche's arm, bat lead Cheverus to win at TA in opener

SACO—The long-awaited return of Cheverus sophomore phenom was a rousing hit.

Literally.

Friday afternoon, at Thornton Academy, DeRoche once again sparkled on the mound, but first she delivered a resounding blast with her bat.

And it all added up to an emphatic season-opening victory for the defending champion Stags.

Who are widely expected to win it all again.
