PORTLAND—The highly-touted Falmouth boys' soccer team rode its ability to score quick goals early in halves to a season-opening victory Friday afternoon at Cheverus.

Just 79 seconds into the contest, senior Simon Wissink buried a one-timer to put the Navigators ahead to stay.

The Stags didn't roll over and gave Falmouth all it could handle the remainder of the first half, but couldn't produce an equalizer.

Then, four minutes into the second half, junior Kian Long buried a long shot on a deflection off a corner kick and a mere 27 seconds later, Wissink broke free for the backbreaking goal and the Navigators went on to a 3-0 victory.
