Freeport girls down Mt. Ararat to win Class B title in perfect fashion

PORTLAND—Perfection isn't for the faint of heart.

It doesn't come easily, as Freeport's girls' lacrosse team discovered this grueling week, but in the end, if you can attain it, you'll be immortalized.

The Falcons, the top team in Class B all season, ran into the squad that was a close second, the Mt. Ararat Eagles, in the state final Saturday evening at Fitzpatrick Stadium and three days after surviving rival Greely in a semifinal for the ages, they had just enough to wind up the only undefeated team in the state this spring.
