Freeport girls shut down Yarmouth in prelim to advance

FREEPORT—Despite his team dropping three straight games to end the regular season, Freeport girls' basketball coach Joel Rogers felt that the Falcons were playing their best ball of the year.

Tuesday evening, in a Class B South preliminary round playoff contest against rival Yarmouth, Rogers' team proved him right.

And the end result was a postseason victory.

And a ticket punched to the next round.
