CUMBERLAND—It turns out that championship heart can carry the day at any level.

And Greely's football team, the reigning eight-man, large division state champion, now competing in Class C, has plenty of championship heart to go around.

Friday evening at Glenn A. Hutchins Field, hosting perennial powerhouse Leavitt in their first big test since returning to 11-man play, the Rangers seized control of the game in the first half, saw the Hornets battle back in the second and after their offense stole the show much of the night, it was the defense that came up big with the game on the line.
