HHSS 2025 Field Hockey Preview: Fascinating storylines loom as new season dawns

For the past four seasons, Cheverus has been the without-a-doubt best field hockey team in Maine, winning three Class A state titles, going 71-1 in the process and scoring a mind boggling 420 goals in that span.

The past two years, Freeport and Yarmouth have gone toe-to-toe in Class B South with each beating the other once in memorable regional finals.

Those storylines figure to remain similar in the 2025 season, with a lot of other squads poised to make their mark too.

The new year will feature drama, triumph and likely a few surprises too and local players and coaches can't wait to kick it off.
