The boys' hockey landscape remains in flux, as more schools combine and a two-time reigning Class B champion moves into Class A.

Just eight single-school teams remain in the state, with five of them (Cape Elizabeth, Falmouth, Greely, Scarborough and Thornton Academy) in our coverage area.

One thing that remains certain is that multiple local squads entertain legitimate title hopes and the next three months promise to deliver ample drama.
