Portland's boys' basketball team epitomized the survive-and-advance adage Saturday afternoon in a highly anticipated Class A South quarterfinal round showdown versus ancient rival South Portland at the Portland Exposition Building, racing to an early lead and hanging on for dear life down the frenetic stretch to prevail.
