SCARBOROUGH—Truth was stranger than fiction Tuesday evening at the Kippy Mitchell Sports Complex.

Where the top-ranked, three-time reigning regional champion Scarborough girls' soccer team, to the surprise of just about everyone, found itself down by two goals to No. 9 Marshwood early in the second half of the teams' Class A South quarterfinal.

But the Red Storm were able to rise from the ashes.

Thanks to a girl from Phoenix.

Whose first-ever varsity goal saved the day and extended the season.
