South Portland gets it done against Bonny Eagle in prelim


SOUTH PORTLAND—To win baseball playoff games, you don't have to be flashy.
You just need to throw strikes, make routine plays in the field and get a timely hit or two.
Do that, and the odds of advancement are good.
Tuesday afternoon at Wainwright Farms, the seventh-ranked South Portland Red Riots got pushed by No. 10 Bonny Eagle in a Class A South preliminary round tournament contest, but the Red Riots had the answers.
And lived to play another day.
