SOUTH PORTLAND—Darius Johnson wouldn't be denied.

And that's the biggest reason that South Portland's boys' basketball team was able to hold off rival Portland in an early-season showdown Friday evening at Beal Gymnasium.

The Red Riots and Bulldogs, meeting for the 241st time over the past 115 seasons, produced yet another thriller.
