TA girls fend off Scarborough's furious late rally in prelim

SACO—Thornton Academy's young girls' lacrosse team has arrived.

While Scarborough is almost there.

Two ascending squads did battle in a Class A state preliminary round contest Wednesday evening at Hill Stadium, where the Golden Trojans built a seemingly comfortable six-goal second half lead, then needed almost all of it to fight off the Red Storm's late charge.
