TA volleyball sweeps Deering, advances to state semifinals

SACO—After stumbling down the stretch of the regular season, losing its final two matches, Thornton Academy's volleyball team was eager to begin its playoff run Saturday at Miles Field House.

Even if it meant a 10 a.m. start.

And the third-ranked Golden Trojans quickly let No. 6 Deering know that it had no intentions of messing around and the end result was a tidy straight sets victory which sets up a delicious showdown in the next round.
