AUGUSTA—Blame it on an early start or an unfamiliar opponent, but for the first half of Thursday afternoon's Class B state preliminary round volleyball match, the ninth-seeded Yarmouth Clippers struggled mightily with No. 8 Cony at Ryan Memorial Gymnasium.

But they would ultimately figure it out.
