CAPE ELIZABETH—It was a game that unfortunately had to come to an end.

And one that had an unfortunate ending.

Friday evening at Hannaford Field, the seemingly invincible, top-ranked Cape Elizabeth girls' soccer team played host to No. 4 Freeport in what became an unforgettable Class B South semifinal.

Unforgettable for many reasons.
