DeRoche, Cheverus open in style with shutout of TA

PORTLAND—There isn't an easy out in the lineup of the Cheverus softball team and the Stags' hitting prowess was on display in Saturday morning's regular season opener at Shea Field versus Thornton Academy.

And if that wasn't enough for the Golden Trojans to contend with, oh by the way, they also had to face Cheverus' junior pitching phenom Addison DeRoche.

Who is already in midseason form.

And while Thornton Academy played very well, it ultimately all added up to a decisive Stags' victory.

As they let everyone know they're going to be tough to deny the big prize this season.
