CUMBERLAND—No two girls' lacrosse teams bring out the best in each other quite like the Greely Rangers and Freeport Falcons.

Even when both teams enter a showdown without a victory.

Friday afternoon at Glen A. Hutchins Field, 10 months after producing a state semifinal round playoff game for the ages, the reigning Class B champion Falcons had Greely on the ropes again, but this time, it would be the Rangers who did just enough when it mattered most to prevail.
