WESTBROOK—Cheverus junior ace Addison DeRoche lives right near Westbrook High School, so when her Stags took on her hometown Blue Blazes in an early-season softball showdown Monday afternoon, another brilliant performance seemed likely.

And DeRoche didn't disappoint, even if she fell two hitters shy of perfection.
