Falmouth and Windham girls battle to draw

WINDHAM—Falmouth's highly-touted girls' soccer team has faced its share of adversity this fall, but what the Navigators had to contend with Wednesday evening at Windham appeared too much to overcome.

In pregame warmups, sophomore goalkeeper Emory Westburg was injured and with junior backup keeper Tessa Woodbury also shelved with injury, senior Jane McPheeters, who had never played goalie in a varsity game, was pressed into service.

And she was terrific, as Falmouth rallied from an early deficit to earn a result in a key midseason showdown.
