New era, new excitement for Cape Elizabeth football

It appears that Issiah Bachelder is still capable of strapping on some pads and a helmet, taking a snap in the shotgun, then firing the ball deep down the field to a wide open receiver.

Luckily for the opposition, Bachelder's high school eligibility was used up a decade ago, but the former Portland High quarterback, who went on to play in Europe, has returned to the gridiron.

As the new coach of the Cape Elizabeth Capers.

And he, and his new charges, believe they're on the cusp of a major turnaround.
