Newsletter #50...What a year it was!

The fun began Sept. 4, 2025 and rolled right through June 20th of this year.

The school year just completed had a bevy of athletic highlights, from every school in the coverage area.

It was a great year for this website as well, as paid subscriptions more than doubled from the fall preseason through the end of spring sports.

Along the way, I covered 257 games and there were an abundance of podcasts, newsletters, polls, Athletes of the Week and other features.

I can't thank all of you enough for helping me continue to cover high school sports the way I believe they should be covered.

In-depth, being at as many games as humanly possible.

A big personal thank you to Brian Beard, Jeff Christenbury, Colleen Heal, Cindy Russell and Kneka Smith for being so generous sharing photos!

The site will remain active over the summer.

Beginning next Friday, we'll roll out a postseason all-star teams for each spring sport, with girls' lacrosse up first. Along with listing top players comes the selection of a Player of the Year, Team of the Year and Coach of the Year.

There will also be podcasts (Gorham baseball drops tomorrow) and other features between now and August 17th, when the fall sports preseason begins and a new batch of memories will be right around the corner.

Game stories resume Sept. 3.

I hope you'll stick around in the meantime and once again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you all!
