No drama this time...Cape earns mercy rule win over Freeport

BRUNSWICK—Seemingly every time it takes the field lately, Cape Elizabeth's baseball team finds itself in dramatic, down-to-the-wire games, with the past two requiring extra innings.

Monday afternoon, the Capers enjoyed the opposite end of the spectrum when they took on host Freeport at Pickard Field on the campus of Bowdoin College.

As Cape Elizabeth scored four runs in the top of the first inning, never looked back and went on to a decisive 11-0 victory.

Which required only five innings.
