PORTLAND—A three-goal lead had turned into a one-goal deficit, but North Yarmouth Academy's boys' lacrosse team wasn't about buckle Friday evening at Memorial Field.

Instead, the Panthers absorbed the best shot that Maranacook/Winthrop could deliver, then finished strong to bring home the big prize.

Thanks to some talented players who had suffered through agonizing playoff defeats in recent seasons.
