Windham leads wire-to-wire, beats Kennebunk for first state championship

PORTLAND—Nerves? What nerves?
Windham's girls' lacrosse team wasn't the least bit scared when it took to the Fitzpatrick Stadium turf Saturday morning to face longtime big-game participant Kennebunk in the the Eagles' first ever foray to the Class A state final.
That's because Windham knew it belonged and knew it could win and thanks to a fast start, the Eagles did exactly that.
And they're now state champions for the very first time.
