South Portland's girls ride fourth quarter run to win over Sanford

SOUTH PORTLAND—It's getting to be that time of year.

The time of year when South Portland's girls' basketball team flips the switch and rounds into championship form.

After closing on an 11-game heater en route to their first Gold Ball in nearly four decades last season, the Red Riots' performance with the game on the line against visiting Sanford Tuesday evening at Beal Gymnasium hinted at perhaps more glory to come.
