YARMOUTH—Mercy Nkulu came out firing, Jed Alsup stuffed the stat sheet and J. J. Carlo came off the bench and scored some big baskets for Waynflete's boys' basketball team Wednesday evening at Curtis Gymnasium.

And the Flyers needed all of the above to hold off the feisty North Yarmouth Academy Panthers in an early-season showdown of rivals.
