WESTBROOK—There are plenty of contenders this fall in Class A South boys' soccer.

One team that's not getting a lot of attention is the Westbrook Blue Blazes.

But if Friday afternoon's effort is any indication, the Blue Blazes are poised to burst on to the scene.

When it matters most.

Hosting Kennebunk at Olmsted Field, Westbrook got two quick goals in the first half, then tacked on three more in the second, as it achieved something last seen two decades ago.

A nine-win season.

With the promise of more to come.
