Westbrook's wonder boys beat Cony for historic first state title

PORTLAND—The 2025 Westbrook Blue Blazes now belong to the ages.

After the best story of the high school football season produced an ending almost impossible to believe.

Saturday afternoon at Fitzpatrick Stadium, the Blue Blazes, who had never even played in a regional final, not to mention a state game, prior to this year, had their way with a seemingly unstoppable Cony powerhouse.

And instead of the clock striking midnight, Cinderella morphed into Godzilla and earned the ultimate prize.
