Yarmouth's rally falls just short against Gardiner in state final

BANGOR—There will be no Gold Ball for the 2025-26 Yarmouth boys' basketball team.

But the Clippers played like champions nonetheless in the Class B state final Friday evening at the Cross Insurance Center.

Ultimately, however, Yarmouth couldn't dig out of an 11-point halftime hole and it's magical run fell just a few points short of the ultimate prize.

And as a result, the valiant, talented Tigers of Gardiner are celebrating a state title for the very first time.
