Cape girls blank Hermon to capture Class B championship
Cape Elizabeth's girls' soccer team jumps for joy after receiving the Gold Ball following Saturday's 3-0 victory over Hermon in the Class B state final.

AUBURN—The perfect team enjoyed the perfect ending.

The Cape Elizabeth Capers, who steamrolled the competition from the get-go this autumn, faced their final test when they took to the pitch at Red Eddies' Field on the campus of Edward Little High School Saturday morning to battle last year's state runners-up, the Hermon Hawks.

And the Capers passed that test with flying colors.

And left no doubt that they're the finest Class B team in the state of Maine.
