PORTLAND—Even the players on Cheverus' baseball team were willing to admit it.

There's no way they thought they'd improve by 10 victories this spring.

But sure enough, that's exactly what the Stags accomplished by virtue of an impressive regular season-ending home win over Bonny Eagle Thursday afternoon at Shea Field.
