PORTLAND—It took a couple of games to work out the kinks, but Cheverus' field hockey team is hitting its stride.

And that's bad news for the rest of a conference who hoped the Stags might be coming back to the pack this fall.

Monday afternoon, hosting Gorham, a team which gave it all it could handle and more a year ago, Cheverus produced its best game of the season, starting fast and rolling to an emphatic victory.
