FALMOUTH—Falmouth's baseball team was on a high entering Tuesday afternoon's home game against Sanford at Croker Field and when senior slugger Jacoby Porter hit a prodigious, game-tying home run in the bottom of the sixth, it appeared the Navigators would ride that momentum to yet another victory.

But it wasn't to be.

That's because the Spartans, reminiscent of another York County team of a year ago, eventual Class A champion Biddeford, is flying under the radar and peaking at the right time, and behind a four-run uprising in the top of the seventh and a gem of a pitching effort from senior Cayden Gendron, they'll be entering the posteason on a win streak of their own.
