BIDDEFORD—It took 101 real time minutes and might be talked about for 101 years to come.

Wednesday evening's Class B girls' lacrosse state semifinal between the top-ranked, undefeated Freeport Falcons and fourth-seeded, three-time reigning state champion Greely at Waterhouse Field had all of the hallmarks of a state title tilt and while this year's showdown happened one round prior, it produced enough thrills to enter into legend.
