SOUTH PORTLAND—Last Friday evening, in the season opener, South Portland's boys' lacrosse team had its chances to finish strong and earn a victory over traditional power Cape Elizabeth, but ultimately, it fell short.

Tuesday night, facing rival Scarborough at Martin Memorial Field, the Red Riots found themselves in an almost identical spot and this time, came up huge when it mattered most.

Thanks in large part to a terrific effort from sophomore goalie Logan Hychko and an unstoppable force by the name of Tadgh O'Donnell, South Portland's senior captain.
