Cheverus girls close with statement win over Thornton Academy
PORTLAND—Cheverus' girls' lacrosse team accomplished some great things over its first 13 games, but the Stags were still seeking a signature, statement victory.
That came Wednesday afternoon at Fore River Fields.
With a flourish.
Hosting red-hot Thornton Academy on Senior Day, not only did Cheverus erupt as it usually does on offense, it played strong defense and dominated the intangibles en route to a shockingly lopsided triumph.
