Freeport girls hold off Cape for key victory

CAPE ELIZABETH—The wins haven't come easily this spring for Freeport's reigning Class B state champion girls' lacrosse team.

Wednesday night at Hannaford Field, the Falcons earned an elusive victory, but had to fend off the host Cape Elizabeth Capers for 48 grueling minutes.

And don't look now, but a year after being an undefeated juggernaut, this Freeport edition might just be rounding back into title form.
