Greely girls ride smothering defense past Yarmouth

CUMBERLAND—If the old adage, 'Defense wins championships' rings true, it isn't remotely far-fetched to imagine Greely's girls' lacrosse team bringing home a coveted state title five weeks from now.

The Rangers, who returned their entire defensive unit this spring, put forth yet another impressive effort against a top offense Friday evening at Glenn A. Hutchins Field, when they hosted neighbor and longtime rival Yarmouth, which entered the game riding high on offense.
