GORHAM—Two years ago, in the Class A South Final at the University of Southern Maine, Cheverus freshman pitcher Addison DeRoche was sensational in an epic 10-inning victory over Windham.

Tuesday evening, DeRoche made her return to the site of her greatest game and she was nearly perfect.

And so were her teammates.

And as a result, the top-ranked Stags are now just one win away from a Gold Glove.

Battling resurgent second-seeded Bonny Eagle in the Class A South Final, DeRoche was perfect for six innings, allowed just one hit and with the help of some timely hits from players expected and unexpected, the state's most dominant team will play on the biggest stage of all.
